MATHEMATICS CLUB

Mathematics is a methodical application of matter. Mathematics makes our life orderly and systematic. Math’s is a subject which nurtures creativity, power of reasoning, critical and analytical thinking and most important problem solving ability. Mathematics is a cradle of all subject and creation. Learning mathematics can be made easier and enjoyable by including activity based learning. By constituting math’s club students can be made to learn math by fun.

Objectives
  • The main purpose of creating math’s club is to improve dexterity of students in math’s and statistics subject. This will develop their interest in the subject and become a very important tool for built up their career.
  • Appreciate the usefulness, power and beauty of mathematics.
  • Enjoy mathematics and develop patience and persistence when solving problems.
  • Develop mathematical curiosity and use inductive and deductive reasoning when solving problems.
  • Become confident in using mathematics to analysis and solve problem in real life situation.

Mathematical Series on Algebra & Analysis
  • Objective:

    Subject enrichment of students on certain topics of Algebra & Analysis.

  • Activity Details:

    Theme: “Mathematical Series on Algebra & Analysis” | Date: 14 & 16 September, 2019

  • Event Description:

    To make students focus on certain topics of Algebra & Analysis a two days Mathematical series was organized for all B. Sc. I, II, III year (CS & IT) students. The subject expert in the first session of lecture series on the topic “Cauchy’s theorem for abelian and non abelian groups” was Dr. Anand Prakash from IIT, Indore (M.P.). He has emphasized upon how to find out the solution of system of n-linear equations with n-unknowns. In the second session there was lecture of Dr. Ashisha kumar from IIT, Indore (M.P).He has delivered a lecture on “Riemann integral and its importance”. On the second day of lecture series two sessions were organized by DAVV professors Dr. K. N. Rajehwari and Dr. Mahesh Dhumaldar on the topic “Algebra Analysis". All the students of B.Sc (CS&IT) participated with zeal and enthusiasm.

Mathematical Quiz
  • Objective:

    To inculcate inquisitiveness among students by organizing Mathematical quiz.

  • Activity Details:

    Theme: Mathematical quiz | Date: November 15, 2019

  • Event Description:

    A verbal quiz was organized for students of B. Sc III Year (CS& IT) Students. In all eight teams of 2 students each was formed. In all, 4 rounds of different questions were taken. Each round comprised of 10 questions. The event ended with the pursuit of holistic development of future performers.

Celebration of Ramanujan Day
  • Objective:

    To celebrate the birth anniversary of famous Indian mathematician Ramanujan and to recognize his great contribution in the field of mathematics.

  • Activity Details:

    Theme: RAMANUJAN DAY CELEBRATION | Date: 23 December, 2019

  • Event Description:

    Mathematics faculty of the institute attended Ramanujan day celebration at SVVV, Indore where the day was celebrated with zeal and enthusiasm to mark the contribution of the great mathematician. A seminar was organized and a lecture was presented by an eminent personality of Tata Institute of Fundamental Research Mumbai to highlight the contribution of Shri Ramanujan.

The forthcoming activities of Mathematics Club are:
  • Seminar on “Queuing Theory” for MBA students in guidance of Professor Snigdha Banerjee from School of Statistics DAVV, Indore. This would help students to understand depth of the subject.
  • Workshop on Reasoning and Aptitude for all final year students of SVIM in guidance of Dr. Shanti Tejwani, Principal, Shri Vaishnav College of Teachers Training, Indore. This would help students for their career opportunity.
  • Workshop on Statistics for MBA students in guidance of Professor Dr. Sansanwal, Indore. This would help students to understand depth of the subject.
