About WGRC

The Women Grievance and Redressal Cell has been constituted to maintain safety and security of the girls and women of the institute. The Cell deals with the cases / complaints of sexual harassment and any other type of harassment of the female students, teaching and non-teaching women staff of the institute. If the students or female employees face any harassment, then they can complain at women grievance and redressal cell. The members will look into the issues, gather the evidence, and take the necessary action against the guilty. The Cell is vigilant and keeps a keen eye on the entire campus.

Objectives
  • To listen and understand the complaints of grievances from girl students, female teaching staff, non-teaching staff.
  • To inspect all the complaints within specific time.
  • To ensure confidentiality and time bound response to the complaints.
  • To conduct developmental and awareness programs for the girl students and female staff.

Smart Girl: To be Happy, to be Strong”- Two days Training Program

Every six months a two days training program is organized with the slogan “Smart Girl: To be Happy, to be Strong”. The purpose of this training is to empower the girls to take right decision at right time and in each and every unfavorable situation.The program consists of different modules like self awareness, communication and relationship, choices and decisions, selection of friends and self defense, role plays, situation based plays, so that the girls can handle the situation confidently and fearlessly. All the first year girls participate in this training program.From this training program the girls learn how to tackle the odd situations, how to select good friends, to be aware of the surroundings and to keep themselves safe.

Women Hygiene Awareness Program

Every year an awareness program is organized in the institute on topic “Women Hygiene Awareness”. The aim of this program is to make the girl studentsawareabout hygiene. The resource persons of the programs are Ms. Ankita from Unicharm,Ms. Anushree Acharya, Management trainer of Global Hunt Foundation. All girl students, female faculties and staff of the institute participated in this program.During this session the girls learn how to be hygienic and they also make their family members and friends aware of the hygiene. They make it as a habit and remain healthy.

Self-Defence Training Program

Every year a six days Self-Defence Training Program is organized for all girl students of the institute. The program is aimed to strengthen the self-confidence, defense mechanism and physical fitness of the girl students. All the 6 days of programthe students are fully occupied with practical demonstration and practices facilitated. Dr. Divya Gupta, Gynaecologist and Founder of Jwala Mahila Samiti, Ms. Renu Agrawal, Sub Inspector, In Charge, We care for You, Indore, Ms. Arundhati Singh Chandel, City Joint Secretary Misson Sahasi promoted to conduct the program.Ms. Khushbu Vyas and Ms. Swati Rajput and Mr. Devendra Dobdekar were the martial trainers. This program encourages and motivates the girl students to be self independent and defend themselves at odd situations. The girls feel safe and they can also teach their relatives and friends also.

International Women’s Day

Every year International Women’s Day is celebrated on March 8 in the institute. The program focuses on the women empowerment and gender sensitization. The chief guests of this program were Dr. Smita Bharadwaj, IAS, Managing Director, MPFC. Ms. Nivedita Naidu, ASP, Indore Police, Dr. Divya Gupta Gynaecologist and Founder of Jwala Mahila Samiti, Ms. Ankita Joshi, Editor, City Bhaskar, Mrs. Anamika Jain, a social worker running an NGO named Avijit Welfare Society, Ms. Jini Dewaliya, a social worker and hair stylist. The girls and boys were taught to empower themselves and also taught the value of gender sensitization. As a result the boys are also empowered to protect the girls and to behave properly and protect the girls.

Pinkathon- a Marathon

Pinkathon, a marathon for the girls and women was organized through WGRC. The main objective was to create awareness about women health care and importance of exercise. All the girls and women played different games and were motivated towards healthy life. Mr. Milind Soman, renowned Model, Actor and a Sports person, Smt. Aryama Sanyal, Director, Indore Airport, Airports Authority of India, Dr. Suju George inaugurated the event. They all insisted that women should take care of themselves and daily exercise is mandatory for their healthy life.
